Yesterday was Bring Your Child To Work Day at my company so I brought my child along for the day. I honestly had no idea what lessons I would learn from her in less than 8 short hours. My daughter is 8 years old but is wiser beyond her years. The night before I taught her to shake hands, introduce herself and to behave. She taught each person she came across that if you are always yourself and nice to every person you meet you will make valuable friendships. I met new people from my office, saw a side to the ones I knew never existed, and learned that my daughter could be friends with anyone she comes across. How is it that we learn more from our children than we do from those that employ us, those that we pay to teach us, or other adults? I believe that we can learn from anyone if we keep an open mind to what is taking shape around us. That is how I learned that my child was wise beyond her years. She is amazing now and will continue to be amazing. I just feel honored to have each day with her that I do.
